Severe Weather Alerts:

Severe Thunderstorm Watch: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the following counties until 8:00 PM Thursday Evening -

In Maryland: Frederick and Washington
In West Virginia: Berkeley, Morgan, Jefferson, Hampshire & Hardy
In Virginia: Frederick, City of Winchester, Clarke, Loudoun, Page, Shenandoah and Warren

Flash Flood Watch:  A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the entire WHAG Viewing Area through Friday Morning/Afternoon.

As a cold front slowly approaches the region tonight into tomorrow, we are looking at a two pronged attach from Mother Nature. The first wave will be tonight in the form of severe thunderstorms. Some storms could produce damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH and large hail, and we can not rule out an isolated tornado.  Once this passes, we're looking at an extremely heavy rain situation for the entire area, where 2-4" of rain can be anticipated through Friday Late Morning.  This could cause some real water management issues across the entire area.

River Flood Watches have been issued for the Potomac River, click the link above to see where these are in effect.

We'll keep you aprised of the latest severe weather alerts, as we receive them from the National Weather Service.
