Weather Alert: A TORNADO WATCH is in effect for majority of the viewing area through 9:00 PM Wednesday Night. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect for Page County, Virginia until 10:00 PM tonight

Weather Synopsis: A quasi-stationary front is currently located across the area and will begin to lift north as a Warm Front as we get into the evening hours tonight. With that frontal boundary close to the area, we do have the dynamics for severe weather including Tornadoes through the evening hours tonight.

After the front lifts north tonight, we will be in the warm sector before a cold front moves through on Friday, and that continues the chances for showers and thunderstorms through the end of the week. Once that front moves through the area, we will bring drier and less humid weather to the area for the weekend, before more chances for showers and thunderstorms moves back in for the beginning and middle of next week.

Stay WEATHER AWARE as we get through the evening hours tonight, and have your tornado precautions ready to go tonight should your area go under a Tornado Warning.  Stay with WHAG: Your Local Weather Leader, we’ll keep you ahead of the storms.

I’ll see you on WHAG News at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 7:00 and 11:00 PM.
