Six-Year-Old Boy Struck and Killed by Car

The driver is not facing any charges, and police say speed and alcohol were not a factor.
FRONT ROYAL, Va. - A child died after being run over by a car Saturday evening in Warren County, Virginia.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. along South Street, close to the McDonalds.

Front Royal Police say a six-year-old boy came from the Front Royal Plaza, ran into the street, and that's when a car struck him. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver is not facing any charges, and police say speed and alcohol were not a factor.

An autopsy will be done on the boy Monday.

South Street was shut down until around 1 a.m.
