Teen Faces Assault Charges in Hagerstown Stabbing

Officers with the Hagerstown City Police Department say a 15-year-old is facing first and second-degree assault charges after stabbing another person in the chest Friday afternoon.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Officers with the Hagerstown City Police Department say a 15-year-old is facing first and second-degree assault charges after stabbing another person in the chest Friday afternoon. 

The incident happened at 4:10 p.m. Friday, June 20 at 139 Summit Avenue in Hagerstown. 

Police say they responded to the area for the report of a stabbing. Once on the scene officers located a male victim with a stab wound to the chest area. The man was transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time. 

During the investigation, officers developed a suspect and learned he is the son of the victim's live-in girlfriend. Police say the teens whereabouts are unknown at this time. 

Officers say this is being investigated as a domestic situation, and there is no danger to the public. The Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating this incident.
