Three Separate Accidents Reported on I-70, One Taken to Hospital

Troopers with Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack say the accidents began around 7:30 a.m. and occurred about 15 minutes apart. All were around mile marker 32.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. Three separate accidents along Interstate-70 briefly snarled traffic Wednesday morning, sending one person to the hospital.

Troopers with Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack say the accidents began around 7:30 a.m. and occurred about 15 minutes apart. All were around mile marker 32.

In all three crashes, no life-threatening injuries were reported. One person was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The first accident involved one vehicle, the second crash involved two vehicles, and the last accident involved three vehicles.

State police say the interstate was never fully shut down. One lane was briefly shut down for a moment as tow trucks worked to get vehicles off of the interstate.
