Va. State Police Investigate Fatal Accident

Troopers have confirmed Wesley Helsley of Winchester, Va., died on the scene.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. - Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened in Stephens City, around 12:05 p.m. Thursday. 

Troopers have confirmed Wesley Lee Helsley, 60, of Winchester, Va., died on the scene as a result of his injuries.

VSP said Helsley was traveling westbound along Tasker Road [Route 642] in his 2000 Chevy Blazer, when another vehicle pulled out from the stop sign at the Route 740 intersection.

The second vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Camery, crossed the eastbound lane, and struck Hensley's vehicle on the left-rear corner. 

Helsley's car spun and overturned. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the vehicle. 

The other driver has been identified as 86-year-old Betty Cappellini. She was not injured in the crash. No charges have been filed as the case remains under investigation by Trooper K. L. Myers. 

Virginia State Police were assisted by the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, Millwood Fire and Rescue, Middletown Fire and Rescue and Stephens City Fire and Rescue.
