Walmart Purse Snatcher Turns Himself In

The incident occurred at 8:48 p.m. Saturday, July 5 at the Walmart on 1730 Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. - Crime Solvers reports thanks to a strong media presence, the suspect in the Walmart purse snatching case turned himself in. No other details were immediately available from Pennsylvania State Police.

Earlier in the week, state police released surveillance photos of the man who snatched someone's purse at a local Walmart, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. 

The incident occurred at 8:48 p.m. Saturday, July 5 at the Walmart on 1730 Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg. 

As you may recall, troopers said the man took cash from an unattended purse/wallet of a customer, while shopping in the store. 

They said he removed the purse from the shopping cart and after taking the cash, discarded the purse and wallet in an adjoining isle. He then fled the store on foot.

State police report multiple Crime Solver tips were received in this case.
