FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. – A Florida man wanted for a bank robbery in Colorado was arrested in Thurmont Wednesday, according to the Thurmont Police Department.
Jack Wright, 52, of Fort Lauderdale was arrested after police said they received a tip that he was traveling from Indiana and would be stopping in Thurmont on July 16.
Wright was wanted for a bank robbery in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, according to Thurmont police.
Officers said that the informant indicated that Wright was driving a black pickup truck with Florida tags and assisted police by directing Wright to a location on Tippin Drive. They assembled an arrest team and placed Wright into custody when he arrived in the area.
Officers said that during an interview Wright admitted to the Colorado bank robbery and told police that he was also involved in two other bank robberies, one in Gainesville, Florida and one in San Antonio, Texas.
Thurmont police are now working with agencies in those areas.
