The residents called 911 just after 6 a.m. Monday on the 5600 clock of North Frederick Pike.

FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. - A family is safe after their home went up in flames Monday morning.

The residents called 911 just after 6 a.m. on the 5600 block of North Frederick Pike.

The family was able to get out safely and there are no injuries reported.

That fire was put out in under an hour. The fire was said to have started in a wood stove.

The fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the blaze.

The family of five is currently being assisted by the American Red Cross. Raymond Watson, with the Red Cross says they typically put a family in a hotel up to three days, and provide them with food and clothing.

Just the week before, on November 25 another house fire on West King Street in Strasburg started in a similar manner and left the family without a home. They too are currently being assisted by the Red Cross.
