WHAG NEWS - A Winchester man was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges after authorities say he solicited a 15-year-old girl for sex.

Officials with the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit, along with the assistance of the Frederick County, Virginia ICAC Task Force, arrested Michael Lee Ricketts, 59, of Winchester, Va., for internet solicitation of a minor, displaying obscene material to a minor, and sending obscene material to seduce a minor.

Police say the charges stem from an investigation that began in March 2014, when Jefferson County School officials notified West Virginia State Police that a young female teenager had been solicited for sex and harassed by Ricketts.

According to police, an investigation revealed numerous pornographic images and text messages, including a request for sexual intercourse, were sent to the juvenile from Ricketts.

Ricketts was arraigned in Jefferson County Magistrate Court and has been released on a $230,000 bond.
