Winchester Ranked Top 10 Most Exciting Places in VA

Movoto Real Estate stated Winchester knows how to "pack a punch" in the excitement department. An example is its annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, which has been going on for nearly 100 years.
WINCHESTER, Va. - Winchester has been ranked in the top 10 list of Most Exciting Places in Virginia, according to Movoto Real Estate, a licensed brokerage in over 30 states.

Movoto said they looked at the most populated areas in Virginia and used 2010 U.S. Census data and local business listings to make their determination on exactly how exciting a place is based on:
  • Nightlife per capita (bars, clubs, comedy, etc. )
  • Live music venues per capita
  • Active life options per capita (parks, outdoor activites, etc.)
  • Arts and Entertainment per capita (movie theaters, festivals, galleries, theaters, etc.)
  • fast Food restaurants per capita (the fewer the better)
  • Percentage of restaurants that are not fast food (the higher the better)
  • Percentages of young residents ages 18 to 34 (the higher the better) 
Movoto Real Estate stated Winchester knows how to "pack a punch" in the excitement department. The City is also home to Shenandoah University, which offers tons of sports and school-sponsored events. 

They stated by the numbers, Winchester's nightlife, music venues, active life, and arts per capita all ranked in the top 10. It also has a fairly young population, with over a quarter of the people being between ages 18 and 34.
