BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the woman who was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash along Interstate-81.

Deputies said the deceased has been identified as Emily J. Weadon, 65, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. One person, also from Chambersburg, Pa., was airlifted from the scene and remains hospitalized, while a third injured person, from Camden, New York, was treated and released from a local hospital, police say.

The crash occurred on Saturday, July 12, 2014 along I-81 northbound, just prior to the Exit 12 interchange. Berkeley County dispatch said the vehicle was traveling southbound along the interstate near Exit 12 around 2 p.m. when sudden and heavy rainfall caused the driver to lose control.

They said the car spun through the grass median into the northbound side, striking another car.

The Sheriff's Office said the investigation has shown there was seat belt use in both involved vehicles. The crash remains actively under investigation at this time.
