Woman Sentenced for Sexual Relationship with Minor

Angela Grimm was sentenced to four years in prison on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor. The sexual relationship started in 2006 when the victim was only 16 years old. The relationship ended in 2012.

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. -  Angela Grimm was sentenced to four years in prison on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor. The sexual relationship started in 2006 when the victim was only 16-years-old. The relationship ended in 2012.

The Williamsport woman was sentenced Thursday inside Washington County Circuit Court. Prosecuting Attorney Brett Wilson said the case is sensitive because the victim may be the father of one of her children, but it has not been confirmed.

"There is even a possibility that they could have had a child in common during this relationship,” said Wilson.  “Through the investigation process we debated whether genetic testing was necessary for the investigation. We ultimately decided that was not the best use of resources, but that is a possibility.”

Wilson also said the sexual relationship came to light when the victim's friend reported it to a school counselor after she was tipped about the incident through Facebook.

"Normally social media is utilized by the perpetrator or predator to try and locate a victim and certainly we have a number of cases where that is in fact the way the relationship began,” said Wilson. “In this case it is in fact the way that this case was solved, so we could take the appropriate action."

Grimm will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
