WHAG NEWS - Deep Creek Lake has been selected by the Travel Channel as one of their top ten 2013 Best Fall Foliage Road Trips.

Located in Garrett County, Md., officials say Deep Creek Lake is known for the many outdoor activities including boating, snow-tubing and skiing.

In a written release, Nicole Christian, president of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce said, "We are thrilled that the Travel Channel has chosen Deep Creek Lake, our annual Autumn Glory Festival and our two Fall Foliage Driving Tours for this honor."

Officials say the two driving tours include one in McHenry, a 90-minute driving loop that includes the lake, ski slopes and breathtaking autumn foliage. For a longer drive, they say to try Historic National Road, which starts near Deep Creek Lake and winds through six states.

From October 9-13 is the 46th Annual Glory Festival, which celebrates the beauty of the fall foliage. The festival offers many things to do including two parades, concerts, antique and craft shows and much more.
