JEFFERSON COUNTY, W.Va. - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has now identified the man who led them on a police chase from West Virginia to Maryland back on September 22, all while a child was without a car-set in the vehicle.

Deputies say Shermaine Rhone was driving the car and is still at large. Rhone is wanted for reckless driving, fleeing from an officer in a vehicle, and child neglect resulting in risk of injury.

Deputies say Rhone is said to have been staying between Hagerstown and the Fairmont, West Virginia area.

As we've reported, it all started when a traffic stop turned into a high speed chase late at night. Deputies say three adults were in the car Rhone was driving, along with a 19-month-old child who wasn't in a car seat.

The chase started in Martinsburg, went through Shepherd University in Jefferson County, and then over the Maryland state line onto Sharpsburg Pike in Washington County. Police say the car was reckless, going more than 90 mph.

Anyone with information of Rhone's whereabouts is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at (304)-728-3205 or their local authorities.
