Deputies Searching for Couple in Supermarket Theft

Deputies say the couple worked together, with the man distracting store employees while the woman filled their cart with various items including baby formula, diapers and paper towels.

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a couple who're wanted for questioning in connection to multiple supermarket thefts. 

Deputies say the thefts happened on July 17 and August 27 at the Weis Markets in Spring Ridge Parkway in Frederick. They say the couple worked together, with the man distracting store employees while the woman filled their cart with various items including baby formula, diapers and paper towels. 

The woman would then leave the store without paying for the goods and loaded them in what appeared to be a silver PT Cruiser, according to deputies. 

The store reports the pair stole more than $1,800 with of merchandise. 

The woman is described as between 40-50 years-old with black hair. The man is described as between 40-50 years-old, 6'0" in height and bald. Anyone who recognizes this couple is asked to call Dep. Andrew Ivins at (301)-600-7150.
