Distracted Driving Laws "Buckle Down" in West Virginia

Starting on Monday, West Virginia will have stricter distracted driving laws in the state. 
WEST VIRGINIA- Starting on Monday, West Virginia will have stricter distracted driving laws in the state. 

It's now a primary offense if you are caught using a cellphone while driving your vehicle without a hands-free devise. 

Violators face a $100 fine for a first offense. 

West Virginia is also upgrading its seat belt law this month. Motorists can be pulled over for not wearing one starting July 9. The violation had previously been a secondary offense.
