Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

A Maryland State Trooper pulled over a driving for speeding, and discovered a large amount of heroin and marijuana in the car.
FROSTBURG, MD -  Investigators with the Maryland State Police say a traffic stop turned into a drug bust Thursday evening.

Officials say a trooper pulled over a driver for speeding around 5 o'clock Thursday evening on Interstate 68 near Midlothian Road.  The driver, 34 year-old Landon Garrett of Morgantown, WV, had a warrant for his arrest.

The trooper smelled marijuana from the car, which lead to a search.  That search turned up 1500 packets of heroin and 17 packets of marijuana.

Troopers say both Garrett and the passenger in the car, 18 year-old Cheyann Hammonds, were arrested for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and heroin.
