Evening on the Riviera to Raise Money for Non-Profits

The event will be held Friday, October 4th, from 7 p.m. until midnight at the Frederick Fairground's E-ventplex.
FREDERICK, Md. - You can enjoy good food and entertainment while supporting local charities at the same time.

Evening on the Riviera will be held Friday, October 4th, from 7 p.m. until midnight at the Frederick Fairground's E-ventplex.

"Evening on the Riviera sees 100 percent of the proceeds going to charities that benefit from the event year to year. We have actually collected over $1 million and contributed over $1 million to local charities in the past 16 years," said Caressa Flannery, marketing and public relations chair with Evening on the Riviera.

The event features 24 restaurants and caterers, two micro-breweries, three wine shops, and all kinds of music.

"People are coming out to enjoy themselves, but they know that the money that they're spending to either be here or to purchase a silent auction item is contributing to these non-profits," Flannery said.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Heartly House, a domestic violence shelter, and the YMCA of Frederick County.

"Those two charities are very geared towards families, women, and children," Flannery said. "They do wonderful work in the community of Frederick, so we're very excited to be able to help both of those non-profits."
