FCC Campus Buildings Evacuated as Officials Investigate Suspicious Package

Emergency crews were on the campus of Frederick Community College Thursday evening after a suspicious package was discovered.

11:00 PM Update: WHAG has learned that officials have determined that the suspicious package on the campus of Frederick Community College has been determined as safe, and the college has re-opened.

FREDERICK, MD - Officials with the Frederick City Police Department say buildings were evacuated on the campus of Frederick Community College Thursday evening after a suspicious package was discovered around 8 o'clock.

Officials said officers with the Frederick City Police Department and the Fire Marshal's office were on campus investigating.

According to the college's website, the package was found in the Cougar Grille in the Classroom Student Center Building.   As of 9:30 Thursday, school officials say the campus is closed as officials continue to investigate.
