FedEx Responds to Post-Holiday Trouble

The company says it operated at a very high service level during the holiday season.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - UPS left many people with a ‘bah humbug’ Christmas spirit, as packages were not delivered on time.

Analysts blame the calendar, weather and more last minute online purchases, online shopping overall was up 16.5% this year.

FedEx had fewer problems.

We reached out to FedEx locally and officials with the company said, “The fact is FedEx is projected to handle 275 million shipments, in this shortened holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we operated with very high service levels - over 99% at FedEx ground, for example - during our busiest time of the year,” said Scott Fiedler of FedEx.

We don't know exactly how many packaged didn't make it to their destinations, and not in time for Christmas.
