The flames engulfed the home, and crews say one of the only things still identifiable on the property is a Dodge Challenger.
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - The Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office is calling a house a total loss after the single family home caught fire Thursday morning.

It happened just after 2 a.m. on the 3200 block of Bidle Road. Fire officials say one person was in the home asleep when the house caught fire.

The flames engulfed the home, and crews say one of the only things still identifiable on the property is a classic Dodge Challenger.

Neighbors say the house was at least 100 years old. Lieutenant Deputy Fire Marshal Charlie Green estimates damages to be $150,000.

There were reported of the fire rekindling around 12:30 Thursday.

Fire officials were able to determine the fire started in the basement, however the investigation is still ongoing.
