FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - A Myersville home was destroyed by a fire Monday afternoon.

The blaze broke out just after 1 p.m. on 2709 Clark Road, right off of Canada Hill Road. It's reported the fire destroyed nearly the entire second floor of the brick house.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue officials say no one was injured in the fire. According to neighbors, a family with two dogs lived at the home. They tell WHAG no one was home at the time.

Officials say 74 firefighters responded and it took them about two hours to put the fire out.

Officials have not yet determined a cause, and tell WHAG they have not ruled out arson.

"There was heavy fire from the exterior. It spread up into the loft and into the roof area. The fire is labeled as suspicious at this time. It's under investigation by the Frederick County Fire Investigation Task Force," said Captain Kevin Fox with Frederick County Fire and Rescue.
