MARTINSBURG, WV- Fire officials are investigating a fire that sparked early Thursday morning in Berkeley County.
Martinsburg Fire Department officials say it happened around 12:45 a.m. at the Fat Tuesdays Restaurant on North Queen Street.
Fire officials say it took 30 minutes to get the fire under control. Most of the fire happened in the top level, part of the restaurant level was destroyed. Officials say the fire broke out after the restaurant closed, and no one was inside at the time.
"The fire was contained to the attic area mostly, so there was not a whole lot visible from the outside, so the whole attic was involved," said Lt. Jason Hoover, of the Martinsburg Fire Department
Fire officials were on the scene for eight hours. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
