Firefighters Battled Three-Alarm Blaze at Apartment Complex

It happened at the Crystal Park Apartments near Route 15 in Frederick.
FREDERICK, Md. - We're following a fire that crews battled for almost two hours Monday afternoon at an apartment building. As of now, officials are calling it a three-alarm fire.

It happened just before 3 p.m. in the 100 block of Alessandra Court at the Crystal Park Apartments. Both Frederick City Police and Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded.

Residents reported seeing heavy smoke and flames, which were visible from Route 15.

Fire officials say all residents were able to get out safely, however the damage sustained to some apartment units have left some families without a home. Red Cross says they're working with residents to determine their needs for food, clothing etc.

More than 50 firefighters responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
