Four Legged Friends Get Snow Gear

"We've gone through a lot of raincoats, jackets, some sweaters, and other products to protect pet's feet."
FREDERICK, Md. - People didn't just get snow essentials for themselves. They got some gear for their four-legged friends.

"When we have wet, heavy snow, people come in in droves to get weather-proof apparel for their dogs. We've gone through a lot of raincoats, jackets, some sweaters, and other products to protect pet's feet," said  Kevin Moriarty, owner of Two Paws Up!.

The mom-and-pop pet shop in Frederick saw a huge boom in business Monday before the snowstorm.

"Monday, which is often a slow day for us, was huge with people buying food for dogs and their cats, and also they've been keeping in mind other products they need that some people might not think about, such as Safe Paws Ice Melt," Moriarty said.

Snow-related items flew off the shelves, such as ice melt, paw protection, dog snow boots, jackets, and raincoats.

Pet owners bought so many snow products for their pooches, only a few items are left.
Those at the store say it's just as important to prepare your pets for the snowy weather as yourself.

"I think it's great that people take responsibility for their animals," Moriarty said. "Dogs and cats, they love to come in here, but they can't shop for themselves, so it's good that we have the products here for people."

The owner said the most popular items included several types of canine snow boots and ice melt made to protect dog's paws.
