Frederick Man Faces Charges in Hit-And-Run Accident

Police say Moises Jacom fled on foot, leaving an injured passenger in the backseat.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - A Frederick man is facing serious charges in connection to a hit-and-run accident late Sunday night.

Police say around 11 p.m. they responded to the 100 block of Hillcrest Drive for a report of a car accident with multiple injuries. Once on scene, authorities they say found two cars badly damaged. 

Witnesses stated that the driver of a Toyota was traveling northbound when he crossed the center line and struck a car causing a chain reaction.

After the collision, the driver Moises Jacome fled on foot along with a passenger, leaving a third person injured in the backseat. The third passenger and the driver of the struck vehicle were taken to Frederick Memorial hospital for treatment. 

Police say they located Jacome a short distance from the scene. He's charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
