Frederick Police Arrest Group in Drug Bust

"It’s a good sign for us that we're actually getting the information from our citizens,” said Lt. Clark Pennington, Frederick Police Department. “We’re getting that, officers are reacting to it, we're arriving on the scene and in this case, we made three arrests."

FREDERICK, Md. – On New Years Day, the Frederick Police Department charged three people for drug possession.

It happened around 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Beckley's Motel on Willow Road.

When officers searched the room they found marijuana, heroin and drug paraphernalia in the room.

Police charged Kaitlin Dyer of Thurmont with possession of drug paraphernalia and released her from the scene.

Police charged and arrested Kristen Dryman of Thurmont and Jerry Thompson of Walkersville for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

"As been reported in the past, we've seen an up tick or increase in the amount of heroin use in the county so these types of arrests and information that's provided to use, we think is critical to combating this type of drug offense,” said Lt. Clark Pennington with the Frederick Police Department.

Officials encourage residents to call police if they notice any suspicious or drug related activity.

"It’s a good sign for us that we're actually getting the information from our citizens,” said Pennington. “We’re getting that, officers are reacting to it, we're arriving on the scene and in this case, we made three arrests."

Police say Dryman posted a $4,000 bond and Thompson posted a $10,000 bond. Both have been released.

"We respond to all complaints whether you think it's minimal or not, give us a call. We'll arrive, we'll kind of access the situation and determine if there is a crime being committed. But if you see something suspicious, if you think drug activity is occurring, give us a call,” said Pennington.

You can call the Frederick Police Department at (301)-600-2100.
