Friends Remember Victim of Fatal Collision

"The only thing i can do is celebrate his memory. I mean, that's why I'm here now, to hang a wreath and let him that I still love him. And he'll be looking down over us, he'll watch us," said William Taylor, close friend to Jeremy Peel.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A Hagerstown man was killed in a head-on collision that also injured three others, early Tuesday morning.

WHAG's Kirstin Garriss went to the scene and talked with the victim's friends.

"It was just a loud bang. When I came out it looked like it was wrapped around the pole and the other car was sitting across the street," said Howard Neugvauer, who lives on Frederick Street and heard the incident. "See the man in the other car, he was just laying on the road when I came out. Everyone was calling 911."

The collision happened on Frederick street just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, sending four people to Meritus Medical Center.

But one didn't make it.

"I mean, I was just, I was just with him yesterday afternoon at 3 p.m. and then to get a phone in the middle of the night that he's gone, breaks my heart," said William Taylor, close friend to Jeremy Peel.

Friends say Jeremy Peel was on his way back home after giving a friend a ride when the accident happened.

"I mean all we can do right now is pray for the family, pray for this two sons because they loved their dad a lot, he's going to be missed," said Taylor.

Taylor says peel was a good friend and he's honoring peel's memory by hanging a wreath at the crash site.

"The only thing I can do is celebrate his memory. I mean, that's why I'm here now, to hang a wreath and let him that I still love him. And he'll be looking down over us, he'll watch us," said Taylor.

A friend he hopes is never forgotten.

"I want to stay in their lives ya know and help them celebrate their dad. I don't want them to have any ill thoughts of their father at all. He was a great man, and he was an even better friend," said Taylor.

Jeremy Peel is survived by his two sons, his mother and step father. Hagerstown Police say charges are pending the result of this ongoing investigation.
