Front Royal Fugitive Caught in Maryland

Officers with the Front Royal Police Department say a local man who was wanted on grand larceny charges was caught and taken into custody on Tuesday.
WHAG NEWS - Officers with the Front Royal Police Department say a local man who was wanted on grand larceny charges was caught and taken into custody on Tuesday.

Anthony Wayne Williams was arrested in Anne Arundel County in Maryland by officers on active warrants from another jurisdiction.

In Front Royal, Va., Williams was charged on November 4, 2013 for felony grand larceny and obtaining money by false pretenses after police say he sold a vehicle that didn't belong to him. The vehicle has since been scrapped and is no longer available to be returned to its owner, Travis Coleman.

Williams is also wanted in Prince George's County, Maryland on a felony larceny charge obtained in October. Williams will then be extradited back to Virginia to face other charges obtained from five more jurisdictions, including the latest felony warrants from the Front Royal Police Department.

Two other men that were with Williams, Christopher Michael Simpson and Matthew Shane Funkhouser were also arrested without incident for unknown charges.

Anyone with further information on these incidents are asked to call the Front Royal Police Department at (540)-635-2111 or Sgt. Jason Ryman at (540)-636-2208.
