Girls of All Ages Participate in Mama Muddy Run

Girls, Incorporated and Girls On The Run participated in the first Muddy Mama Run, an effort to inspire young girls.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Washington Agricultural Center hosted the first Muddy Mama Run event. Girls Incorporated and Girls on the Run participated in the race with hopes of inspiring other young females.

About 1,000 women were registered to race and it was ages ranging from 10 to 70 years old.

Runners slid down slides as puddles of mud splashed onto their clothes, and other challenges included monkey bars and wall climbing.

Many locals showed up to support their friends and family at the finish line and along the race.

Girls, Incorporated and Girls on the Run aims to motivate girls through life-changing experiences that will help them navigate through social banners.

"100 percent of the proceeds are going to the programming for the run and for Girls Incorporated, so it's to bring awareness to the after-school programs that we are providing and to bring women together," says Maureen Grove, executive director of Girls, Incorporated.
