Greek Festival Supports Church and Community

The Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Frederick hosted their annual Fall Festival.
FREDERICK, Md. - The Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Frederick hosted their annual Fall Festival.

Proceeds from the festival will support the church and some of its renovations. Some of the money will also go back into the community to help those in need. Members of the Parish cooked homemade Greek dishes, giving the community a true taste of Greek culture. A special Greek beer was also brewed locally for the festival. Organizers say the festival isn’t just about raising money but really about sharing their culture with the community.

“One of the things we look to is keeping the Greek culture here in Frederick. We share the culture and give back to Frederick, and also to have people experience something different in Frederick which is the Greek culture,” says Nick Damoulakis of the Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church.

The Church will also hold a Spring festival the third week of May. To find out more about the Church and upcoming events, click here.
