Hagerstown Police Seek Wanted Man Involved in Hit and Run

Officials with the Hagerstown Police Department are searching for a wanted man who they say was involved in a hit and run accident in the North end of Hagerstown Thursday evening.
HAGERSTOWN, MD - Officials with the Hagerstown Police Department are searching for a man who they say was wanted for assault charges, and then involved in a hit-and-run accident Thursday evening.

Officials have identified the man as Ted Anthony Dyson of Williamsport.  They the accident happened in the area of The Terrace and Prospect Avenue around 6 o'clock Thursday evening.

Investigators say a young child was in the car with Dyson at the time of the accident, and that Dyson fled from the scene on foot, leaving the child behind.

Police say traffic charges for the accident as well as for child engenderment are now pending against Dyson.  They are asking anyone who might have seen him or who knows his whereabouts to call them at 301-790-3700.
