Hagerstown Premium Outlets Encourages Customers to Shop Pink

The outlets are helping the local community save some green by participating in the annual campaign to spread awareness about breast cancer.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and while many women may know about it not many know how to detect the early stages of the disease.
In an effort to raise more awareness, the Hagerstown Premium Outlets is taking part in this annual campaign by helping its customers save money.
"Shoppers can purchase a $10 coupon book that will benefit Susan G. Komen and give you 25 percent off a single item at participating stores through the entire month of October," said Angie Riford, Hagerstown Premium Outlets marketing director.
A variety of stores are participating with some setting their window displays in pink.
"We've got 43 great stores participating in this event through October including J Crew, Polo Ralph Lauren, Harry and David," said Riford.
Only cash or credit donations will be accepted at the information desk at the food court.
"The Susan G. Komen is for raising awareness of breast cancer throughout the local communities and we give the proceeds of the coupon book sales to Komen Maryland," said Riford.
The Hagerstown Premium Outlets hopes to raise at least $100,000 with the help of the local community.
A representative from Komen Maryland will be at the outlets on October 19, 2013 to answer questions regarding breast cancer health and the organization's efforts.
