Hood College Takes on $2 Challenge

Students in Frederick are raising awareness for the billions who live in poverty around the world.
FREDERICK, Md. - Students over at Hood College are taking on the $2 challenge.

Officials say that means they're only allowed to spend $2 a day for everything they might, including food. They're raising awareness for the billion who live in poverty around the world. They say part of the challenge is they can't shower, or use their cell phones or laptops.

Students say the challenge makes them realize to never take anything for granted. They say the experience has made them aware of that it means to face homelessness.

Students at Hood College are taking the $2 challenge for a total of five days and four nights.
