House Catches Fire in Charles Town

It happened around 1 p.m. on 545 Brooke Street in Charles Town.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. Jefferson County Fire and Rescue are investigating after a house caught fire Friday afternoon.

 

It happened around 1 p.m. on 545 Brooke Street in Charles Town.

 

Fire officials told witnesses on the scene that the blaze had originated from the basement. Jefferson County dispatch says they’re not sure if anyone was inside the house when the fire initially started, however they can confirm that no one was injured in the blaze.

 

Firefighters were able to take out a bulk of the fire around 2 p.m.

 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
