Hundreds of Local Artists at "Artomatic"

Nearly 400 artists have put their work on display downtown Frederick for “Artomatic.”
FREDERICK, Md. - Nearly 400 artists have put their work on display downtown Frederick for “Artomatic.”

Many of the artists are from Frederick County, and some come from throughout Maryland and beyond. The exhibit will be open through October and includes seven floors of artwork at a building along East Church Street.

“Artomatic” originally started in Washington D.C., and the idea was brought to Frederick. Organizers say the exhibit isn’t just for the artists, but for the community because it helps bring business to the area and also spread the culture.

“Studies have shown the art world brings in about $10 million a year to Frederick County and we’re trying to keep that going and the mission is really to bring everyone together and to keep that energy going,” says Kevin Elveton, finance manager for Artomatic. “We just bring everyone together in this Venue and what it speaks create a lot of energy, a lot of excitement, a lot of realization of what's out there.”
