Law Enforcement Official Reinstated After Lying About Address

A former candidate for Winchester Sheriff is back on the job after pleading guilty to lying twice about his address on election forms.

Winchester, Va. - A former candidate for Winchester Sheriff is back on the job after pleading guilty to lying twice about his address on election forms.

Joseph Embree stated that he lived inside Winchester city limits, when he really lived in Frederick County.

Embree was put on administrative leave under Democratic Sheriff Lenny Millholland, who recently retired.

Under Republican Les Taylor, the new sheriff in town, Embree was reinstated.

Embree was sentenced to a total of 60 days in jail all of which were suspended, a $2,000 fine – of which $1,800 was suspended and 96 days of community service.
