Legislative Package Presented to Frederick Co. Delegation

Some of the bills include removal of the storm water management fee, or what opponents call the "rain tax", allowing payments of wages with a debit card and salary adjustments for the Frederick County Sheriff and Orphans Court.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - Frederick County Commissioners presented their legislative package Thursday morning to the Frederick County Delegation.

The package included seven county bills the delegation will debate introducing when the Maryland General Assembly begins session in January. Some of the bills include removal of the storm water management fee, or what opponents call the "rain tax", allowing payments of wages with a debit card and salary adjustments for the Frederick County Sheriff and Orphans Court.

"Certainly one of the issues is trying to eliminate Frederick's participation in the rain tax. Commissioners feel that they have been able to sufficiently address it and that it's an unfair burden to the taxpayers," said Sen. David Brinkley (R) - Frederick County.
