Lend A Hand Meal Project Helps Those in Need

“It’s a really nice event to have. A lot of families have made it part of their Christmas tradition. We have staff from nurses, techs form all specialties throughout the hospital,” said Stephen Kotch, Chairman of Emergency Medicine.

Hagerstown, Md. - More than 250 volunteers and Meritus Health workers teamed up Tuesday morning for the 13th annual Lend a Hand Meal Project.

“It’s a really nice event to have. A lot of families have made it part of their Christmas tradition. We have staff from nurses, techs form all specialties throughout the hospital,” said Stephen Kotch, Chairman of Emergency Medicine.

The group assembled Christmas meals for needy people at the Robinwood Professional Center in Hagerstown. Each meal consists of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie.

“It’s really a good deed, it makes us feel better because we are helping others in need,” said volunteer Jakob Keller.

The meals will be delivered to 2,500 needy people in Washington County.
