Local Hospital Offers Discounted Lung Cancer Screenings

The service will give smokers the opportunity to undergo a lung screening that can help detect cancer earlier.
MARTINSBURG, WV- Berkeley Medical Center officials announced on Tuesday a new service will be available at the hospital for longtime smokers. 

The service will give smokers the opportunity to undergo a lung screening which research shows can help detect the early stages of cancer. 

Officials say the low dose CT lung screening for lung cancer will be offered at a discounted rate beginning in August. 

They say the first screening clinic will be Saturday, August 10 from 8 a.m. until noon in the radiology department at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg.
