Local Supermarkets Recall Frozen Appetizer

Giant Food Stores LLC and Martin's Food Markets, following a recall by ConAgra Foods, are removing PF Chang's Home Menu Dumplings and Leek frozen appetizers from their shelves.
WHAG NEWS- Giant Food Stores LLC and Martin's Food Markets, following a recall by ConAgra Foods, are removing PF Chang's Home Menu Dumplings and Leek frozen appetizers from their shelves. 

The two supermarkets are recalling the item due to undeclared shellfish (shrimp) or fish, which are both allergens, on the ingredient label. Officials say the product is not safe to consume for people who are allergic to crustacean shellfish or fish. 

The product that's being recalled is labeled as: 
  • PF Chang's Prk & Leek Dumplings, 12.5 oz., UPC 3620021215, with use by dates of MAY082014 and MAY092014. 

Officials with Giant and Martin's say they've received no reports of illnesses to date, but people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish or fish may run the risk of serious of life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. They're asking anyone who has purchased the product, and is allergic to these food items, should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to Giant or Martin's for a full refund.
