LURGAN TOWNSHIP, PA- The Franklin County Drug Task Force arrested a man after they found more than 1,000 bags of heroin inside his house.

Police say around 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 members of the Franklin County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Brent Salmon's home on the 11000 block of Tanyard Hill Road in Lurgan Township in Franklin County.

They say the search came following an extensive investigation after police developed information that Salmon and several other co-conspirators were driving to Philadelphia several times per week, where Salmon would obtain large amounts of heroin, usually several hundred bags at a time. Investigators say Salmon would then return to Franklin County, where he would redistribute the drug, primarily in the Orrstown and Chambersburg areas.

Police say upon searching Salmon's home, they found 1,148 bag of heroin, each carrying a street value of $10 in the Philadelphia area.

Salmon is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Salmon's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Franklin County Central Court.
