Man Arrested in October Cab Robbery

As the taxicab arrived at its destination in the 1400 block of Taney Avenue, a man in the passenger seat, Kevin Andrew Ashton, Jr., 27, began chocking the cab driver, advising the driver to remain quiet or he would kill him.
FREDERICK, Md. - Officers with the Frederick Police Department have made an arrest in the assault and robbery of a Yellow Cab driver back in October. 

Officers say on October 25, 2013 the driver of the taxicab picked up two customers in the 400 block of W Seventh Street. As the taxicab arrived at its destination in the 1400 block of Taney Avenue, a man in the passenger seat, Kevin Andrew Ashton, Jr., 27, began chocking the cab driver, advising the driver to remain quiet or he would kill him. 

During the assault, Ashton Jr. advised the cab driver to give him all of his money. He was able to exit the cab with a number of stolen items. 

Aston Jr. is charged with robbery, theft and assault. He was served a criminal summons on December 12 in reference to this case.
