Man Flown to Shock Trauma in Backhoe Accident

According to those with Frederick County Fire and Rescue, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at a construction site at Saint John's Catholic School.
FREDERICK, Md. - Rescue crews flew a man to shock trauma after a backhoe accident Thursday morning in Frederick. 

WHAG was on scene as the Md. State Police helicopter flew the victim to Baltimore Shock Trauma. According to those with Frederick County Fire and Rescue, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at a construction site at Saint John's Catholic School. 

They say crews arrived to find the male victim injured from a backhoe accident. About seven people with fire and EMS helped out at the scene. 

"Engine crews assisted Trooper 3 in landing at the construction site. Crews assisted the trooper with loading the patient into the helicopter, and he was in route to shock trauma," said Kevin Schmidt, firefighter Frederick County Fire and Rescue. 

No word on the extent of the victim's injuries. Stay tuned for updates on how he's doing.
