Troopers say a 47-year-old armed man barricaded himself inside a house in the 500 block of St. Thomas Williamson Road.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg barracks, along with members of the State Police SERT team say a man is dead following a standoff with police in St. Thomas Township Monday morning.

Troopers say around 10:40 a.m. they attempted to serve an aggravated assault warrant stemming from a domestic dispute on a 47-year-old man. They say the man was armed and barricaded himself inside a house in the 500 block of St. Thomas Williamson Road.

Troopers and members of the State Police SERT team were able to secure a perimeter around the home. They say negotiators tried to get the man to surrender, but were unsuccessful. During negotiations, the man disregarded commands and fled the house with several firearms. Members say they shot the man as he approached the perimeter of the house.

State Police are asking drivers to avoid the area until further notice. Roads are still blocked and drivers are currently being detoured.
