Man Sent to Baltimore Burn Unit After Sustaining Injuries in Weekend House Fire

Close to 40 firefighters from the Hagerstown Fire Department and Long Meadow Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire which also caused minor damage to a neighboring home.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - One man was taken to a Baltimore burn unit after sustaining injuries in a house fire Saturday night.

The fire broke out on East North Avenue in Hagerstown shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday. 

About 40 firefighters from the Hagerstown Fire Department and Long Meadow Fire Company responded to the blaze which also caused minor damage to a neighboring home. 

The man who sustained burns was the only one home at the time of the fire.

A firefighter also sustained minor injuries while fighting the fire, but was treated at the scene. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
