Man Taken to Hospital in Drunk Driving Accident

Police say the man drove off the shoulder and into a residential yard, where he struck a tree and overturned.
CUMBERLAND, Md. - Police say a serious accident late Wednesday night has been determined to be the result of drunk driving.

Officers say Andrew Morris, 22, lost control of his pick-up truck while driving eastbound on Route 36 at Stoney Hollow Road.

They say Morris drove off the shoulder and into a residential yard, where he struck a tree and overturned. 

Morris was taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. 

Officers say Morris was driving under the influence. No word if any charges are pending against him.
