Man Wanted in SunTrust Bank Robbery Arrested

Frederick Police arrested the man responsible for leading officers on a chase after robbing the SunTrust Bank earlier this month. 
FREDERICK, MD- Frederick Police arrested the man responsible for leading officers on a chase after robbing the SunTrust Bank earlier this month. 

The U.S. States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force says 37-year-old James Raymond Vanwinkle, of Greencastle, Pa., was found in the 400 block of North Main Street in Greenville, South Carolina after police say they received a tip on his whereabouts. 

Vanwinkle was wanted in the state of Maryland after walking into the SunTrust Bank on Rosemont Avenue on March 13 and displayed a note to the teller demanding cash. 

Police say Vanwinkle escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. They say Vanwinkle fled the scene, and soon after there was a police chase. 

Vanwinkle is currently being held at the Greenville Detention Center awaiting extradition. 

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
