Hagerstown, MD - A major donation is allowing the Maryland Theatre to make necessary plaster renovations.

The theatre announced on Friday that they received a donation of $250,000 from the Hamilton Family Foundation.  Officials with the theatre said the generous donation will support the project, which will happen in two phases.

The first phase will begin immediately and will be completed by early February, and the second phase will be completed during the summer months.

Both phases of the project have been planned around the theatre's performance schedule.  The project will restore deteriorating plaster while maintaining the theatre's historic integrity.
